Tips & Warnings of Heating Style Clip-In Hair Extensions

Heat style clip-in hair extensions and achieve your desired hairstyle. There are two main types of clip-in hair extensions: synthetic and human hair extensions. Human hair extensions are typically the more expensive choice, as they are made of real human hair and look and feel more natural. Clip-in hair extensions offer a quick and easy way for women to achieve thick and voluminous hair.

For a sleek straight look, rub a small amount of hair serum between your palms and over the top of your hair to reduce frizz and smooth the hair.

You can use something in place of a door stopper as long as it has some weight to it, such as a bookend or a small lamp.

Hair extensions do not receive natural oils in the hair as your natural hair does. To help keep your extensions in the best condition and ensure the longest life—which is especially important if you use heat styling tools on them frequently–apply a deep conditioning hair treatment to the extensions at least once a month. Wash hair as normal, apply the hair treatment to the extensions and place them around the rim of the sink to soak for 10 minutes. Rinse the hair extensions out thoroughly and air-dry or style as desired.

You can also curl your hair with hot rollers. Heat your rollers and follow through with the same steps listed, substituting a hot roller for each curl you would make with a curling iron. Roll each section on a roller all the way up to the top of your head and secure with a clip. The main difference between using a curling iron and hot rollers is with a curling iron you only leave it in each section of hair for 20 to 30 seconds, whereas with hot rollers you leave them in until they cool, about 20 minutes for most hot rollers.
