Before you shampoo your Clip in hair extensions it is imperative to remove any tangles that there may be with extreme care, utilizing a wide tooth comb or the comb recommended by us. If the hair is excessively tangled you should use a spray on de-tangler/conditioner. Do not force the knots or much like your own hair you will experience breakage.
1. Brush out your hair extensions before washing them making sure there are no knots or tangles before wetting.
2. Gently wet your hair extensions with warm water.
3. Without being rough, comb the shampoo through the hair with your fingers.
4. Rinse out the shampoo thoroughly.
5. Apply conditioner the same way as the shampoo. Applying conditioner is very important as it will make the hair more manageable once dry. Conditioning will also make the hair soft and shiny.
6. Once you have rinsed out the conditioner comb through the extensions to avoid tangles.
7. It is better to let your hair dry naturally as blow drying could cause damage.
8. Comb your extensions each time you remove them otherwise it will get more difficult to remove any tangles.
9. Using a treatment or a hair mask will help keep them looking healthy and shiny for longer!
10. You will find that you don’t need to wash your extensions often, about every 4-6 weeks is worn regularly.
The extensions can be blow-dried, but it is not recommended to do so too often. It is best to let your hair extensions dry naturally after washing them, and out of the sun to avoid discoloring.
Tip: Airing out your extensions is often all you need to keep them clean. You can use a little silicone to keep them smelling fresh and feeling soft .
