Miley engaged to Liam Hemsworth

MILEY Cyrus and her Aussie beau Liam Hemsworth are engaged, People magazine reported yesterday.

Cyrus, 19, told the magazine, “I’m so happy to be engaged and look forward to a life of happiness with Liam.”

“The Hunger Games” star popped the question May 31 with a 3.5-carat, cushion-cut antique diamond ring designed by luxury jeweler Neil Lane.

Lane told the magazine the groom-to-be asked for “something unusual,” and they “worked back and forth” on perfecting the sparkler – handcrafted in 18-karat gold with diamond floral motifs.

“The light flashes and sparkles no matter where Miley moves her hand,” he said.

Cyrus and Hemsworth, 22, started dating after meeting in 2009 on the set of their film “The Last Song.”

The “Party in the USA” singer took to Twitter to thank fans and friends for their good wishes.

“Thank you for all the love today 🙂 I’m happy to share this news with you all. I feel like all my dreams are coming true,” she tweeted to her 5.8 million followers.

Her father, country singer Billy Ray Cyrus, also tweeted, “All I ever hoped for as a Daddy was to see my kids reach their dreams. To find happiness…peace of mind …and someday know… true love.”
